What Are BOTOX & Neuromodulators?
BOTOX, a trade name for botulinum neurotoxin, and other neuromodulators such as Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, and Daxxify are injectables that temporarily interrupt the signal between targeted nerves and muscles. By easing muscle contraction in carefully chosen areas, they soften the dynamic wrinkles that form from repeated expression. They are commonly used on forehead lines, the frown lines between the brows, and crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes, among other areas shaped by movement. They do not add volume or fill established folds, but they can help keep expression lines from deepening over time.
